MN Wilderness First Aid is a Red Cross authorized training provider, emphasizing on Wilderness and Remote First Aid training for Scouts America leaders preparing for high adventures. If you are not affiliated with Scouts, you are welcome here too. I conduct numerous trainings throughout the year, and I am willing to travel to facilitate training for groups of eight or more. I took over for my friend, Paul Kautz the owner of ACTIVE SOURCE, INC. who wanted to retire, but didn’t want to leave our local scouting community in lurch. I made becoming a certified Red Cross Instructor one of my Woodbadge ticket items. If you were referred here from ACTIVE SOURCE, INC. – “Welcome, you are in the right place!” I’ve modeled the 18 hour Wilderness and Remote First Aid course after what was offered by Paul at ACTIVE SOURCE, INC.
I’m a former United States Army Officer, and have extensive experience in the backcountry. I’ve spent time at all four National High Adventure Bases with Scouts America, and I have supervised multi week trips traveling with both Scouts America and Girl Scouts. I’m a Girl Scout Leader and a Scout Master for Troops located in New Brighton, MN.
I enjoy teaching youth. As a registered and background checked volunteer for the Girl Scouts and trained Scout Master with an up to date YPT for Scouts America I’m happy to join you at a camp or meeting to conduct training. I can teach any level of first aid to Girl Scouts including the Cadette Babysitting Badge. I can provide training and resources for the Scouts America First Aid Merit Badge, including Step 7 in the 2022 update. I am willing to work with any Scout needing a counselor for the following Scouts America Merit Badges: Backpacking, Camping, Cooking, Environmental Science, Geocaching, Hiking, Insect Study, Orienteering, Scouting Heritage, Skating, and Theater.
I look forward to helping you prepare for your next adventure.
